Tourist Attractions and Landmarks in Hyderabad and Secunderabad


Hyderabad and Secunderabad have a lot to offer to all kinds of tourists. Whether its architectural delights or excursions or amusement parks and shopping, the city has it all.
Some of the most visited attractions are:

Charminar - Synonymous with Hyderabad, this is one of the most visited tourist spots in the city. Also the shopping around Charminar is something not to be missed.

Golconda Fort - Golconda Fort, located around 11kms from Hyderabad is one of the most magnificent fortresses in India and its history dates back to the early 13th century, when this part of the country was ruled by the Kakatiyas.



Shilparamam
Shilparamam is an arts and crafts village located near Hitech City. It is spread over 50 acres of land and is surrounded by wild vegetation and unique rock formations. The village was conceived with an idea to create an environment for the preservation of traditional crafts.

Salar Jung Museum - The Salar Jung Museum is located on the banks of the Musi river. It is the third largest museum in India and boasts of having one of the largest one-man collections of antiques in the world. This museum was set up by Mir Yusuf Ali Khan, popularly known as Salar Jung III, the prime minister of the erstwhile Nizam of Hyderabad.



Nehru Zoological Park - opened to the public on 6 Oct 1963, the park extends over 380 acres, and is a sought after recreation spot in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. A must visit if you are in the city.



Runway 9 - located at Kompally Village on Medchal road, is around 9 kms from Paradise, Secunderabad.Runway 9 is the first and the largest international standard Go-karting track in India with a length of 711 meters.



Apart from these you could visit Paigah Tombs, Qutub Shahi Tombs, HITEC City, Birla Planetorium, Dhola Ri Dhani, NTR Gardens, Tank Bund, Ramoji Film City, Public Gardens, Lumbini Park and the multitude of shopping malls all over the city.
